June 27th – 6 mois plus tard
WHAT A GREAT NIGHT !!!
Well here we are six meetings so far and they just keep getting better, as Friday 27th was probably one of the best nights so far. I started the evening off with a rendition of "Little Red Rooster" followed by "Lay Lady Lay" accompanied by Eric on Violin – it really did add a nice touch. I finished off my opening with a duet, with none other than my very own "Tartiflette" Christiane, singing "Gone, Gone, Gone". I think the original may have been by the Everly Brothers, but ours was based on the newer version by Robert Plant & Alison Kraus. Anyway another first for me, and Christiane. It was nice bringing in others to help me get the evening going. I may well try to develop that a little more. Believe me it is not the most desirable spot to hold, but someone has to start it and I guess it has to be me. Unless there is anyone out there who would like to give me a break sometime?A big thank you to all you regular musicians who support the night and the to the new musicians who arrived on last Friday: Blues group Lowdown (Father & 2 sons), Larry Tomko – in case you didn't work it out, he is a professional and you can look at his website –

Apparently Ted & Larry used to play in a band some time back and both now live in Chateauroux.
I hope Larry enjoyed his debut with the "Fabuleux Tartiflettes" I think they certainly did. Did he enjoy it enough to come back, we will see?
It is excellent to see an increase in the number of French Musicians taking part at meetings, and in the audience too. I can only apologise for putting this text only in English; I just do not have the time to translate it. (please feel free to offer your time if you wish to translate it, I wll create another version.
We are now entering the season of Fetes and Concerts as the department gets its influx of tourists that make it all posible. I picked-up a booklet from the Tourist Office in Argenton for Festvals in France only to find that the department "36" appears not to have anything happening of importance to be included. What a sad situtation.
All the more reason that the Club de Musique need to exists and develop. So for that reason as well as many others, I am extemely proud to have created the club, and that it attracts such a great mixture of talent and people.
We are approaching the holiday season and some of you will not be able to attend the July meeting, so I wish a happy holiday and hope to see you in August. Well every meeting is a surprise, so we will simply have to see who turns up on the nght !
Thank you all for taking part in the Club de Musique and making the evening such great fun and enjoyable for everyone there.
Until May 30th for the 5th meeting and more music and fun…Geoff
